Hans Rudolf Bosshard

Hans Rudolf Bosshard studied Biochemistry at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, where he obtained his doctoral degree in 1971. He spent his postdoctoral years at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel und at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK. From 1975 to 2005, he worked at the Department of Biochemistry, since 1988 as associate professor of biochemistry. From 1996 to 1998 and again in 2002, he was Student Dean of the Faculty of Science.

Hans Rudolf Bosshard's research focused on the molecular recognition between proteins: Interaction of cytochrome c with its electron transfer partner molecules; antigen-antibody recognition, in particular epitope mapping of proteins; thermodynamics and kinetics of folding of leucine zippers; ionic interactions between proteins.
